Class 47 diagrams York-Sunderland

A friend of mine mentioned that Class 47's were to be diagrammed for York-Sunderland trains in connection with Grand Central. Any truth in this?

Where have you been the past week, searching for that Tardis in B&Q?

The 47s should do the 10.08 and 14.49 York-Sund and 12.30/17.30 return. Those timings are Mon-Fri, Sat is slightly different and I believe next Sunday they will be doing York-Sund via the ECML.

I can't seem to find any special mention that the service is not running normally!

Ah - I see them on the news page, but what use is that to me when the timetable page still shows the normal service? I don't have to look at FGWs news page to check that the service hasn't totally changed. If Grand Central had a better up to date website then that would be a first step in the right direction!

My apologies, as I have mentioned on WYB I hadn’t noticed Mark had put a question at the end. As you know, 47s aren’t my fetish, so generally stuff involving them just gets a quick look at and then discarded. Having said that, I have to confess that I did them on Monday afternoon – my first 47 on a service train since I leapt for a winner one day in 2003 and did it from Manchester Piccadilly to Oxford Road!
