Hello all,

Just to confirm as I only have the ICRS fleet book for 2016 and has no livery or traction information, and I don't have the Platform 5 book, but from what I've read searching on here, I gather that in 2016, all the Class 465/0, 465/1 and 465/9's had the Hitachi traction upgrade? Also what I can see on photo searches is that the whole fleet was in the South Eastern White with blue doors and blue lower stripe?

I take it the Class 466 fleet still had the old GEC traction package?

Any help appreciated!

James.

All of the 465/0s and 465/1s had the Hitachi traction upgrade. 465/2s, 465/9s and 466s all retain their original traction packages to this day.

This answer, but with the correction that the retrofit took place around 2009.

That’s right, the Hitachi online PR reckons the project was to run for one financial year Apr 2009 - Apr 2010.
Hitachi press release here from March 2009 reporting the first of class in service:
Hitachi Europe Rail Group today announced that the first Class 465 unit with Hitachi traction technology have been handed back to Southeastern on schedule and this prototype unit will start revenue service today.

Hitachi was contracted to replace the traction equipment on the 465/0 and 465/1 Networker units.

The project is on schedule. Starting in April 2009, the modification of the full fleet will commence at Ashford lasting until April 2010.

Ahh the 465/2, forgot about that, thank you very much for confirming this! The Train Sim version has both packages, wasn't sure which version is appropriate for this era, now I know, there are also 2 variants, South Eastern 465 and South Eastern 465 PRM. Again I've searched Class 465 PRM and it appears I don't need to use this version for 2016, as from what I can gather the 465 and 466 PRM upgrades were post 2017?

It was the BREL/ABB units with Brush traction, 465/0 and 465/1 which were upgraded with the Hitachi equipment

The Metro Cammell units 465/2, 465/9 and 466 still have their original GEC traction
