Just seen a 458 at New Milton heading towards Bournemouth.

Quite rare animals on this stretch of line.

Assuming the unit was not in service but heading for Bournemouth TMD any idea what it would go there for?

Bournemouth is where SWT are giving the units their minor internal refreshes. 458s have been visiting Bournemouth in sequence for some time.

<Note to self:- Must become more observant.>

Not necessarily - there are set paths for Wimbledon to Bournemouth and return transfers - so if you aren't usually about at that time you could go for ages without seeing a 455 or a 458 down there.

Normally see a 455 or 455 en-route from Wimbledon down the main line.Quite jealous of the Wimbledon drivers actually.I wouldn't mind doing that run.
