I should have taken a photo. Think my phone was in my bag charging up and I couldn't be bothered to get it out.

I thought 022 was waiting near the barrier wagons although I can't confirm if it's still there. Is 015 still on 10 road @ Wimbledon and 022 on 20 Road?

I know 524 works I saw it crawling up Wimbledon yard last week.

As badly as 501, or is it (hopefully) minor damage? If it is a similar issue to last time, that suggests that something is wrong with a component on the trains, and they need to be checked ASAP before any others self-combust!

47727 (coca colas rail) was moving up Wim Yard with four barrier wagons at 1045 and had disappeared when I passed again at approx 1430.No unsuspecting 458's around that part of the yard.At all.Saw three sets on the Reading Road.No news at all at work about 458525.

You bet they are after that.

Just some batteries popping I heard, nothing to see here.

In a rather unexpected move, after spending months out of use, 458015 has returned to service. Been out coupled with 458013 on Reading services this weekend.

I thought that 458015 had done its maximum mileage before overhaul, which is why it was stored?

Maybe SWT wanted to keep it Clapham in plain view as an 'fu' to commuters as don't TOCs hate passengers? :p

So did I.

Perhaps it had used the maximum available at that time while still allowing it come back for a few weeks later in the programme, to allow a different unit to be sent north. When looked at across the class the different remaining mileages, unit by unit, might not fit such a plan exactly?

One sensible suggestion, three stupid ones.

The mileage had been attained. Perhaps there's an emergency concession for more mileage as they need the unit out there. There would almost certainly have been a thorough return to service exam.

It seems to be a weird way to do it but thanks for the info.
