503 is in Clapham Yard Shed for crew training.530 has been stabled outside the shed @ Wimbledon for the last 2 days+.

IIRC SWT did say in a website announcement that one (or was it two?) units would have to be dedicated to crew training for a while, so assuming they are completely functional should they count as 'in service' from the point of view of conversion progress, even though not going out and about?

In service I guess but not serving passengers.I suspect 530 is awaiting it's turn from the Wimbledon fitters though, for a check up.Crew training is going quite well I think.Notice a few drivers have been called up and a lot of guards have also learnt them also..I learnt them over six months ago.

458501 is on the 2R63 2045 London Waterloo to London Waterloo, a service that previously has not used them.

Existing services:
458532+458531 on the 2S67 2052 London Waterloo to Weybridge
458534+458535 on the 2U67 2058 London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside
458533 missing a unit on the 2V65 2107 London Waterloo to London Waterloo. The 1615 departure from Waterloo was cancelled, which this unit and another attach for.

Leaves 458502 and 458536 not accounted in service for, however a friend did get 458536 earlier, will check which service.

Forgot to post this, in the last 2 weeks Feltham has been announced as Front 7 coaches only, both on platforms and by the guard. I remember this happened right when they were first introduced, but since then it had been 8 coaches out of 10.

No changes to others:
4/10 at Chertsey.
7/10 at Isleworth, Sunnymeads, Datchet, Feltham.
8/10 at Syon Lane, Hounslow, Wraysbury, Egham, Addlestone. Feltham is now 7 not 8 coaches.

NOTE: I still don't know what Virginia Water P3 allows, but it is either 6 or 7.

Clapham Junction incorrectly shown as Front 5 on screens.

The seats are very comfortable :)

458536 working solo was on this service earlier today:
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/W93848/2014/12/19

Thanks :) He appeared to have the following service for 458536, the 2V39 1437 London Waterloo to London Waterloo.

At this time 458533 should have been the 2V33 1307 London Waterloo to London Waterloo, getting there 1432 and waiting for 458536 to get back at 1602 to attach. As their departure together at 1615 was cancelled it suggests 536 failed in the platform and managed to box in 533.

Wouldn't say failed in the platform, perhaps they had trouble coupling or some other issue? Still if they had they would have run it as a five?

Feltham was amended due to issues with releasing 8 coaches at the platform. Beacon moved to ensure only 7 coaches released now, however guard can still use local door for wheelchairs in coach 8 and put up release for the front 7 from there. (It's in the notice case Juniper Driver ;) )

I know about it and the fact the beacon has not moved very far to where it originally was. What is the problem if the train is in?
Is the platform a bit iffy at the back?

Hmmm another thing is they don't like the train too near the signal at the front.

Think both failed. Both units for the 1615 arrived in the usual Platform 19, while the next service at 1752 left from the usual Platform 15. That points to both units failing, as there is no point moving the same unit around like that, unless platforms were desperately needed.
In addition, the next services planned to use P19, the 1619 from Windsor/out again as 1628 and the 1634 from Reading/out again as 1650, both used P17 instead of 19, the next service to use 19 was the 1704 arrival from Reading.

Maybe the thing about the signal explains it, as they appear to keep a certain distance from it unless absolutely necessary, and increasing the amount of SDO allows that distance to be kept. Isleworth both platforms have a massive "CHECK SIGNAL" next to the stop marker for 8-455s, which is actually on the same post as the signal!

At least both Isleworth and Feltham have no space to extend the platforms. Egham, Virginia Water and Addlestone do but haven't been done for some reason.
Nor has Syon Lane, however half the length of the platform at the end that has space to extend doesn't appear to meet the current minimum platform width rules. Could they have had to increase that width if the extension in length was done? On Friday on my train only 7 rather than 8 managed to open there.
Hounslow is another with space at one end, but has a trailing crossover in the way. Again another time I've seen only 7 rather than 8 open there.
Chertsey can only extend about one or two coaches at one end before reaching a road bridge, the other end has a level crossing. Can see why it isn't considered extending just that little bit.

So Monday 29-31 December as well as Friday 2 January 2015 have a Saturday service. That would normally mean 4 cars via Hounslow, but yesterday services were strengthened as 8 or 10.

Two 458/5 pairs (4 units) were used yesterday, on services other than the usual ones (both ones I saw were full 460 conversions):
2S53 1722 London Waterloo to Weybridge (what looked like 458536+458531, but couldn't see properly in the dark. This service is normally 4 coaches as well, so it was 250% longer than normal :P)
2V55 1837 London Waterloo to London Waterloo

On the other hand, the 2U57 1828 London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside was a single 455 unit, busy as well.

On 502+531 today and had to to my first ASDO over-ride which was a bit tricky.Had been warned beforehand that it may go tits up at Queenstown Road (and it did)...Suppose I was lucky to be warned really. So just did what I thought would work and it did. After opening just four, with me pressing the magic button it worked as designed.:p

I suspect the beacon is missing unless they took it away.I had heard it was faulty.

531+532 was used on a Hounslow Loop on Wednesday, nice surprise at Queenstown Road when I saw "10 coaches" on the PIS.

Just need to track down 534+535 to get the remains of the fully 460 ones. Maybe 2015 will be the year the project is finally completed and the 458/0s are no-more (and 450s/455s take over Reading duties)

Think I read on a newsletter that the 458/5s are going to run the Reading Road.Sooner or later.

Something like that anyway.(but your comment covers both bases)

I had the other set, 534+533 (1837 Waterloo to Hounslow) :D. Something didn't seem right with it as it crawled from Waterloo to Queenstown Road, then again from Barnes to Barnes Bridge. And the coach letters had not been swapped around so we had Coaches E and K in the centre, with F at the back . Hope the conversion programme is finally complete this year!
