Class 456 routes

I was wondering, since the South London Line services are no longer run by Southern, what are the 456s used on nowadays? Do they run services by themselves or are they coupled to 455s to provide extra capacity.

As I'm hopefully doing some travelling in London next week, do they run on services through Mitcham Junction through to Clapham Junction/Victoria?

Purley-Tattenham shuttles are the only guarantee.

They turn up on all the metro routes mixed in with 455s & 377s.

There's no booked work south of Purley on the main line and I believe there are two units that venture down the Horsham back road via Dorking, one of them is (was) the 1803 from Victoria.

I'm confused! I ended up jumping in a 455/456 combo on a route learning day a couple of weeks back and it was a Southern service running from London Bridge to Beckenham Junction via Tulse Hill (South London lines) and Birkbeck (Crystal Palace lines) before returning from Beckenham junction. Pretty much a shuttle service. :?

They're used every day.

London Bridge to Victoria (via Crystal Palace)
London Bridge to Beckenham Jct

Either on their own, or attached to a 455 set.

 

[southern442]

LBG to Tattenham are also a fairly common site.
There are lots on the Croydon-London bridge via Sydenham line.
