Oh please god no, we would never hear the end of it, they moan like buggery about the 450s getting down there, they would be incandescent with rage if a red train turned up.

Oh we need all the 455s (and 456s) we can get to run the suburban services, there simply are none spare for anything else, why else would they rebuild the motor coach which was crushed at Oxshott?

good point my dear 455 man....there will be more 313s or even 507/8's available soon...they don't drink much juice. fit a building site bog on em and they then comply

..watch the farmers moan when they have a 313 on the fast services to London.( a 313 on the wey-waterloos.

Unit 455732 ran on overnight tests between Bournemouth and Weymouth last week on 30/7 and 31/7. This is the pilot unit for the programme to fit a new Vossloh-Kiepe AC traction package with regenerative braking.
I am told there are no plans to run 455s in service down to Weymouth.
