Hey all, my friends think I'm a geek and a nerd when I go on about trains but I've recently told them about the Pendolino and how it tilts, no one believes me, does anyone know of any videos or photos that show the Pendolino clearly tilting to either side?

Thank you for your time,

When I told them about the Pendolino a 'tilting train was not possible' and they wouldn't believe me that in this technological age we couldn't tilt trains during a corner, hopefully now they will.

I did mention the APT to my friends in a college session once, it stuck well with the marketing lesson we were having.

Whilst looking round I found this one:

That is a mint shot. And it shows the shocking condition of the rails inside some depots ;). I really need to get some full tilt shots of them, but when they are increased to 11 cars it's going to make reverse curve shots a bit easier and more effective I imagine. I wonder if, with that tilt test system, can they make it do a mexican wave?

The Vermin 221's also tilt.

Suggest going to Rugeley trent Valley to watch the trains coming of the curve in the down direction (going north)

Yes but don't the 221s tilt at 5 degrees rather than 8. I want full tilt effect, and Pendos are longer too unless it's a double Voyager. It is a good angle at Rugeley but happens just that bit too far away for a decent shot

Depends on the lens you're using

Lichfield TV is good there is a curve just after the platform and the 390`s look good going around the curve there

If we're talking places to view the Pendolinos' tilt in action, then Berkhamsted surely is one of the best - a good reverse curve!
