Class 387 - Bristol

I was onboard the 0712 from Paddington to Bristol which normally runs as a guard with an 800/801 and noticed there wasn't the guard throughout the duration of the journey towards Bristol. Is this normal for the 387s as this is my first time onboard down to Bristol with a 387.

387s West of Didcot always have a guard on board.

There definitely was a guard (Train Manager). Whether they were visible is a different matter.

He or she may have been in a different unit to you.

He or she may have been in a different unit to you.

That is true, but as 387s have inter-unit gangways you might expect the guard to have moved between units at some stage.
