Ah, the desire to make things accessible for those in wheelchairs - the only people who can ever be considered disabled it seems.

Thus we have machines with PIN pads that require you to crouch/bend down, which was incredibly painful when I had a bad back.

If they want to do things properly, they should have two buttons at different heights.

Sorry, but if someone in a wheelchair was getting on, wouldn't they be using a ramp with assistance?

I guess the door design didn't take that into account. Unless there are platforms with level access?

They're there to stop the Chinese being able to copy the train :D (sorry, I couldn't resist)

You see, that's clever... because the Chinese would look at the photos, put the louvres on both sides instead of one, without knowing what they should be connected to, ending up with a unit that ****es water in when going through the carriage wash and is permanently draughty.

10/10 to the boys at Litchurch Lane!

Clearly, we need to send the spies in to Ilford Depot!

Now this makes me think as the Victoria Line trains have a silmar thing for the 09TS forced ventilation where warmer air is pushed out higher up the body of the train and cooler warm from below is sucked in. Maybe wrong but possible back up to the 379 air con or maybe a less powerful way of keeping the units cool in ok conditions?

379005 and 006 worked 1G00 today, special service. Official launch for them. Worked up to Stansted, and off to Cambridge shortly. Back to London and providing they've behaved themselves, they're booked to work 1710, 1925 and 2140 Liv St to Stansted. 379007 has also put in an appearance, working 1B50 1110 Liv St Stansted and 1B53 1215 Stansted London.

Whats odd re: the door buttons is theres a small grey section on the door where you'd expect the button to be..

And buttons at both heights would make sense to be truly 'accessible'. Not the biggest issue (I'm sure there will be plenty of others with the train) but worth mentioning as personal opinion.

It was due out this morning on a driver training run but never came out. I'll try and get hold of the resource controller and see what I can find out.

That turn was allocated 317s earlier, although the 2010 Liv St - Stansted and return was unallocated so *may* drop.

Just saw one that would be consistent with there being driver training to the same times as Friday.

(also HAHA to the photters in the fields- unless there was a tour that they were after)

I'm quite keen to see one of these, and maybe take a short trip from Liverpool St to Tottenham Hale. Any idea on when they're running from LST in the evenings during the week?

Best bet is the 17.10, 19.25 or 20.40 Liverpool Street - Stansted Airport and return round trips, if any are out they should be on those. Its allocated 379s this evening but was 317s yesterday, depending upon unit and crew availability those are the turns which will produce.

005+006 holding up traffic at Tottenham Hale earlier, brakes jammed on or had a sneezing fit or summat. No idea if its cleared yet.

Some delightful customer pushed one of the pass comms and the driver couldn't find which one had been pushed. Had it sitting in the platform for 35 mins holding everything up. It eventually shifted at 1930.

Does this train have the 378 style buttons near the wheelchair area? And, if so, are they covered in any way?

In the cab with the paper
It was compounded by a TCMS fault (surprise surprise). It told the driver the passcom was in the first coach but it wasn't.

Seems like these units get their passcoms pulled an awful lot. Are they really so terrible that the passengers feel the need to pull them or are they particularly vulnerable to being pressed by mistake?

That's why I wondered if they had the buttons, like the Victoria/S Stock trains, which are positioned for easy access by children. I believe covers were put on, but I am still sure they're going to be a problem.

Now if someone is pulling the more traditional alarms, that's quite worrying. Is that a general problem on your route? Why would people do it on a new train for no reason?
