Exactly what the title says, at present there is a class 379 in wembley yard near the alstom depot, for whatever reason.

It has literally just gone past Harrow and Wealdstone at 22:19

It was defo a Class 379, saw it clearly as it went past Harrow and Wealdstone on the up slow, my train the 22:04 arrived on the up fast at Platform 3 to make way for it. Very odd indeed.

Its 110mph testing.

Here's a video of the unit going through West Hampstead on its way to Wembley.

Plan is for this week unit will be running on the fast lines up as far as Rugby to test the Aventra mkI body shell at 110mph for the 387 order. Next year the first two 377/7 are supposed to be doing the same testing.

The 379 that will have a battery fitted will have to go back to Derby first.

this must mean the remaining fleet has to be at 93% avilailibility (versus 90% if one isn't away being fiddled with)- pretty sure out of 30 units (29 with one away) 18 are needed for Stansted Express (9x2 unit sets) whilst at peak times there 3x4 unit sets running Cambridge 12-car services

There is 27 diagrams for the fleet but (I didn't check this actually) last time this was planned the unit was back in Ilford the next morning ready as a standby.

It ran again tonight, going past Harrow & Wealdstone at 22:19 the exact same time as on Monday. It was just minutes behind the northbound southern service and my train was again diverted onto the up fast.
