Have southern repainted those rubber orange grab handles or have they standardised the handles? Also any pics of 377/3 refurbishment?

Why are the new side strips a different shade of blue on some units?

Do you mean the handles attached to the seat backs? I think the vast majority are going to be yellow, but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, what precisely do you mean by "side strips"?

The difference between teal/turquoise and blue interior designs is, IIRC, due to the differences between the colour schemes used for the SET and SN areas, but I can't remember the full story.

Some of the side strips (under the window) are fabric that were light blue but some of the refurbs are just a weird shade of blue/green plastic.

EDIT: Southern look as if they have changed the colour scheme of the interior of their units, not sure why - but if you look at the other topic about the 455 refurb, they've done the same thing but with the flooring.

The weird colour is purely and simply down to a mistake being made when the colour was specified.

Oh - those side strips! I see. Yes, indeed, they look a bit weird - I too was always led to believe any problems with the colour choice would be down to an error in the specification.

I've checked the handles today on some refurbished units. Most new ones appear to be yellow, not orange.

cheers. I asked because Southern had so many different spec hand grabs with some being orange rubber

On ex connex spec units the side strips are dark blue whereas on the southern spec the new ones are very light blue which replace blue and grey respectively
