Class 377 at Dover Priory

On the Google Maps page for Dover Priory, there is a photo in which there is a Southern-liveried Class 377 in Platform 2. Does anyone know why it was there?

Presumably 377163 or 164, which were cascaded to Southeastern.

All new trains have to complete a certain number of miles of fault free running before being accepted into service so the testing would've been to check everything is all running smoothly

They were definitely doing mileage runs back then - I remember seeing multiple 377/6s running ECS through Bromley South back in 2013. I believe they were doing laps around Kent for mileage accumulation purposes, doing the big loop via Ramsgate, Dover and Ashford.

They were definitely doing mileage runs back then - I remember seeing multiple 377/6s running ECS through Bromley South back in 2013. I believe they were doing laps around Kent for mileage accumulation purposes, doing the big loop via Ramsgate, Dover and Ashford.

They didn't do loops, they ran from Ashford to Dover via Folkestone as it's the only route they're cleared on. Whilst 377's are cleared to run to Ramsgate via Herne Bay, the 377/6s and 377/7s never went that way.
