Confirmed as 703/704. Cameras on the 377/7 are same as 379 which records pan while moving all the time for incident review.

Many thanks to all whom answered. Not a fan of the interior seats or layout for that matter, they look very similar to that of the 377/6 variants.

As they are run-on of the same order as the 377/6 that's hardly surprising. I'd put a few quid on the 387 being the same...

I hope the 387 do follow on the 377/6 and 377/7 seating. They may be a little hard but the are a brilliant solution to getting people onto a train, allowing handrails to hold onto and still having creature comforts like tables and armrests.
Much better than the silly one and half seat benches coming in on the 700's which only offer a basic half seat! That is not a good solution to cramming more people on a long distance train.

The 700's have the same seats as the 377/6, the only actual difference is the 700s have more padding.

After doing the 377/6 Victoria to Brighton and back a few times they are not suitable for longer than 30mins and putting the same seats as the '6 in the 387 would be a seriously bad idea.

The 700 seats lack armrests, or any divider between the seats though so it results in the seats being narrower. No seat back or full tables either.

Same as most of the Thameslink stock but of course the 700's don't have the same spec as the 377/6 because they were ordered for different reasons. The latter comment has nothing to do with with your original point which is fast becoming an off topic rant. Seats are not narrower but the space they are in is less to be pedantic.

I'm sorry, I don't see how my post was an off-topic rant. This is my first post on the topic of 700 seats. You said the 700 seats are identical apart from padding, that simply isn't true. All I did was state why.

And I proved you wrong as the seats as the same. Arm rest can be added but they are the same seats as the 377/6. Failure to accept this silly. But I'm not going to bother to indudge you further if you don't listen.

They aren't the same though. Have I ever tried to say that the bases, backs and cushions are different? No. All I have said is that there aren't any armrests of spaces between the seats, which makes them quite different, because the simple fact is you will have less room on the 700 seats than the 377/6 seats. I'd argue that missing armrests and seat back tables makes them different. And I'm sorry to say, no I won't be listening to you, I don't have to accept your opinion as correct.

I didn't mean to drag this thread off topic I was just commenting that the 377/6 seats for purpose are good. When I mention seat I mean the whole environment around the place you sit, not just the cushion and backs.
Most passengers prefer to be separated from the person next to them and an arm rest makes this possible (and was stated as a preference by most passengers in the Passenger Focus research forums for the Class 700's). Tray tables are also preferred. The 700 lack both of these things.
Thus I am hopeful that the 377/7 and 387's have the same seats and environs as the 377/6's and hopefully some one will see sense before the 700's are built although I expect the cost of change will prevent that.

Bring the same seats used on the 377/1's (earlier ones).. by far the most comfortable!

Agreed, these are comfortable, and given the potential usage of the 387s - I think this design would make sense. Are the seats on the 377/4s and 377/5s not the same as these then? I have no complaint about those either.

The 2+2 seated sections of the /2s, /4s and /5s are the same but the seats in the earlier /1s and the /3s always feel softer and more comfortable.

The cameras are the same, yes; however, the pantograph lights have been changed. The ones on 379 are massive but the ones on 377/7 are low profile. Equally blinding though....

Its because they have been puffed up a bit more, whilst the ones on the 2/s 4/s and 5/s are rather worn and hard.

agree.

I THINK the earlier 377s (1s and 3s) have a spring built into the seats under the cushions.

Im pretty sure ive seen this, but im not 100%.

The 377/7s will run on the Milton Keynes - South Croydon services using their dual voltage capabilities.

The difference is that the 377/7s will be dual voltage and have a permanent first class area whereas the /6s are DC only and don't have a permanent first class area.

In reality the 377/6s have ended up with a First Class area, they do work one service a day which advertises First Class accommodation. How well marked out the First Class area is still seems to vary between units though.

Noticed a few units have kept the first class stickers.

One of my friends was telling me how on one 377/6 someone had taken the antimacassars off the first class seats and put them on random seats throughout the train!

Someone mentioned earlier that the 377/7's will have a permanent first class area. Does this mean that the 377/7's will have a proper first class area or will the seats be exactly the same as standard?

on the 377/7, the first class is still in DMOS A but it's in the smaller section of the coach instead of the larger section in the coach like those in 377/6. Seat wise they are exactly the same.

66002 and barriers arrived at Derby from Bescot earlier today, so I'd presume they'll be bringing down a 377/7 later.

Saw the poster today advertising all service changes in May. Under WLL all it listed was Minor changes to late night service timings. Nothing about new stock. Unlike when the December one mentioned the new 377/6 for Metro routes.

Seems Southern cannot say for certain if they will enter service in May or not.

The planned changes won't happen now as there aren't all going to be in service by the timetable change. They will be introduced as they are commissioned on a one by one basis.
