Is the 06:45 Victoria - Ore still 12 coaches up to Eastbourne? Surely that also has to be a big anomaly?
I’m not sure if it is still or not but as for why this run is/was 12 coaches is that the coaches dropped at Eastbourne then form a service back to Victoria

If the class 377/5 from Southeastern do not arrive on time can they send the/2 instead to work Brighton to Seaford & Littlehampton to Bognor & Portsmouth?

The /2s already end up working across the network as necessary, other than the ones which have to work the Watford service. I'm not sure what point you are making. The /5 were never reported to be dedicated to Coastway workings. They would just have increased the pool of available 377s.
