I've seen on a number of threads speculating regarding the 376s on Southeastern and a good possibility they may be replaced alongside the networkers well before their intended life span.
This got me thinking, why not transfer these to london overground? They are 5 cars already and a very similar train entirely. All that would be needed is the change in seating arrangement and the addition of aircon (and anything else which can be carried out during a refurb). I appreciate they dont have gangways so cannot operate on the East London Line, but can operate on all other non Anglia lines?
I also appreciate they are not walkthrough but I am sure this wouldn't be a massive loss.
Thoughts?
