Class 375s With Old Moquette

I have seen at least two Class 375s that have the old South Eastern Trains moquette which they had prior to their refresh. I have only seen them on the fold-down seat by the toilet, and one was quite faded and only the base had it but yesterday there was one that had it on the whole seat and in very good condition. Sadly I only took a photo of the former. I am not sure if the moquette in the attached photo is faded blue or the grey moquette some 375s and 377s seemed to have. I presume there are some spare and if the normal moquette is damaged they put on the old one. Still, it's quite weird to see. Does anyone know how many and which trains have this quirk?

Possibly the seat cushion was swapped out for some reason and they had one in old moquette to hand.

Incidentally I much preferred the old look with a mixture of blue/grey/burgundy moquette.

I'd imagine that not even Southeastern would keep a list of which trains have an odd example of previous seating moquette, let alone enthusiasts. How many people have sat in every carriage of the 375 fleet in a three month period to do this sort of research and noted it down?

That's quite likely, although the condition of the one I saw yesterday makes me wonder if it was possibly even a spare from when the trains were first refreshed. I'm so annoyed I didn't photograph it.

They almost certainly don't but since I've seen them in the same place in two different units I doubt it'll be hard to log them. If I actually looked at unit numbers I would have taken note.

Not that I am aware of. IIRC the Connex moquette had yellow bits - 'corn' as I like to call it - while SET moved to a simpler colour scheme.

Whilst I don’t keep track of trains I’ve been on, there will be some enthusiasts that would keep a note of the units. Not many, but I’m willing to bet there’s someone here that would do it

Interesting. Is it possible the one you saw in very good condition was an entire replacement seat made to original specification, or maybe a new old spare? The one in poorer condition may just be a spare that was sitting around, but how it would have come to be spare is a bit of a mystery. Maybe that particular seat cushion was simply missed during the refurb.

I’d love to see some NSE moquette re-appear on a 465. The closest I’ve seen is one of the square silver advert frames replaced with one of the old blue ones with rounded corners - in the TSOL of 465176. I have also seen a bin on a 465 with “Seat handles” written on it in marker.

On my way home today I found another. This was more faded than last week's so there are at least three units. This unit was a /6 or /7, and I believe the other ones were the same as well. I don't know why it seems to affect these subclasses in particular from my experience. It's also weird that only the fold-down seats are affected. Weirdly the armrests have the old moquette as well - seems strange.

I've seen a more prolific example of retro fitting for spare parts: in 2019 466026 had a spare door fitted that was still in yellow from Connex/South Eastern trains' days:
