Driving home this evening I saw a heavily vandalised class 373 powercar and two coaches on lo-loaders as I was driving on the M25 near junction 9. They were travelling clockwise. Anyone know why or where they were heading to?

I believe they are heading to the scrapyard, they are getting replaced by class 374s. The class 373s are damaged by the sea air from running through the tunnel. I believe they are getting scrapped at European Metal Recycling.

Possibly one of the long since withdrawn examples from France headed for scrap?

although, I did hear that there was one at RTC Derby but it is unconfirmed.

Definitely didn't spot anything remotely Eurostar (with the possible exception of 37605) when I was down the RTC yard on Tuesday, so unless it's arrived since then or is hidden away in one of the workshops I'd be somewhat sceptical of that claim.

There is at least one power car and pax vehicle at RTC. I don't know anything more than that but it is definitely there.
