Hi, Its been awhile seen I've been here, so sorry If I break any new posting rules.

Anyway.

Does anyone know where the class 370 were scrapped, whether it was at BR's works or a scrapyard.

I'm just curious.

I don't know if any were scrapped there but I'm sure when I visited Crewe works when I was a member of a rail society there was at least one set sat there awaiting it's fate!

I think 49006 is the one that is at the Electric Railway Museum, Warwickshire

Does anyone know what year they were scrapped in

According to Wikipedia, they were quickly scrapped between 1985 and 1986 when they were taken out of service

I photographed some in Rotherham in what would have been around 1986 in a scrap yard, which would appear to have been Booth's

Those scrapped at Booth's were broken up during September/October 1986, and those at Litchurch Lane during December of the same year.

There's loads of photos online of the sets that went to Booth's being broken up. For instance, these collections on the APT website:

Yes, 49006 is owned by the National Railway Museum, and was moved to the Electric Railway Museum for cosmetic restoration in July 2011.
