Passing Basford Hall yard the other day on the train and noticed several class 365s amongst the trees. Are they withdrawn? stored? or heading to pastures new?

365s are everywhere, one is currently at Bombardier Ilford. when I passed Crewe yesterday I saw the new 710 LOs and the TPE 397s, they seem to be a shortage of sidings for all the new rolling stock + existing units, delays to Aventras likely part of it.

They are several 365 units there being stored and have been for months now, not sure if they have a home to go to. Shame really.

They are stores there. Rail Operations group I believe are involved in the storage amd actually have the lease on those sidings. Is it called Crewe South Yard?

I've ridden on ScotRail 365s a few times in the last months between Stirling and Falkirk.
For me these would be a welcome addition to Northern's fleet - they seem a big improvement over 319s.

As of 1st January 2019 501/03/05/07/15/27/31/35/41 were stored at Crewe Yard (Platform 5's 2019 guide). More recently Railway Observer has 507 as the unit "stored" at Ilford Depot.

Unless those ones at Crewe have had their pans raised or have at least been hooked up to a shore supply the electrics are likely to start deteriorating and they’ll need more work than feasible to make them worthwhile resurrecting.

Knowing the modern railway system they are probably just being left there until they become ‘old enough’ to scrap.
