Given that it was first of class fit - presumably because the sets were at that stage still seen as being needed for use out of King's Cross - that seems to be an utterly pointless exercise.

Oh and btw, there's some rumors that 520 and 522 (yep those too on the last day of service) might go to scrap after 510. and also, Varamis Rail were wasting their time right now. so apparently 525 might go to Network Rail as a ETRMS Tester alongside with 313121. so i think this can rule anytime sooner or later

Given the similarities of the 365/465 fleet, I can’t imagine the first in class fitment is completely wasted, seeing how the latter seem to have an open ended lease currently.

It is rather ironic, as well as sad, that the surviving car from 365526 (which is believed to still exist at Wolverton) seems set to outlive most of the rest of the fleet. I’d imagine it’s fairly well stripped.

It's just so strange knowing that parts of the whole 41 sets still continue to exist. One nearly destroyed NSE liveried carriage from 365526. The complete set of 365525 in ScotRail colours. Two carriages from 365524 and one carriage from 365540. It has such a unexpected beginning and a tragic ending.

I’ve wondered same. One way or other, I don’t think it’s part of the current disposal programme, as it isn’t owned by Eversholt.

I’ve wondered same. One way or other, I don’t think it’s part of the current disposal programme, as it isn’t owned by Eversholt.

I would have suggested if anyone with a drone fancied taking a few pictures of the site...
Unfortunately though. a report in 2013 stated it was in the East Repair Shed.

It’s possible. But equally just as possible it’s still there somewhere.

One presumes it was acquired as a source of potential spares to assist with any 365 works. It could still have a small value in offering a source of parts for 465s too, we know it has in the past been used to assist with repair of a damaged 465. It is a little surprising no 365s seem to be being held back for that purpose.

Not much that is compatible I presume. Things like GSMR will have been taken out before going to the scrapyard. The seats & doors might be compatible but I don’t think the traction motors or braking equipment would be.

now we got 5 more 365s at Belmont now.

Most likely scrap and will be scrap.
However recently the process has slowed down dramatically from approximately 3 a week to start off with from Belmont yard early January 2022.
To around late February 2022.
Off one every two weeks.
A painful slow process.
However Simms Newport as also been busy with 43 power cars. 144s . 456s.
It's a waiting game.
Plus the x5 365 are very troublesome to move. Ie brake continuity issues etc. Air as well.

Very very correct.
My very reliable local source has confirmed this as being correct 365 are now going for scrap as and when Newport Docks Simms have space due to the extreme nature off the workload.
Government now longer have usage for them.
Will go but are being scheduled between other trains for scrap
