Yes that’s the 9th one done & the latest returned into service on Saturday.

Here’s a list of which units are refurbished & in preparation.

the next unit to be finished will be 357005 which will be out in the next week or so

Such a dull scheme. What is wrong with stripes. Also with GBR around the corner why don't the dft put an order out to stop repainting, or have them just do a base livery

It is a base livery really. Once the vinyl purple bits are pulled off, you've got a white train with purple doors.

Only exterior refurbishment including huck bolt covers, body end, side vent, sole bar roof corrosion & a thicker coat to the front unit numbers. I reckon they’ll start on the interior as soon as the last one is completed.

Presumably it has now lost its Union Jack vinyl that it had carried on one carriage?

Oddly enough, it looks from what we’ve seen of the Great British Railways sticker on the Class 701 and the publicity posters on what was SWR, that the GBR branding might look like the Union Jack that it carried before this recent livery change!

A lighting company, LPA, has just published stock market update, saying it has contracts to replace lights and inverters on class 357s, (also contracts for class 222 and some Dutch trains)

LONDON - LPA Group PLC, a supplier of electronic and electro-mechanical components for the rail industry, has secured three new contracts worth over £1.4 million for interior lighting retrofit solutions, according to a press release statement issued Wednesday.

The contracts include two projects with train manufacturer Alstom (EPA:ALSO) and one with Dutch railway operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).

For Alstom’s Class 357 trains, LPA will supply approximately 9,000 LED tubes and 9,000 inverter bypass units, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September 2025. The company will also provide LED tubes and step lights for Alstom’s Class 222 trains, with this contract running from October 2025 through June 2027.

The third contract involves supplying about 20,000 LED tubes and bypass harnesses to Nederlandse Spoorwegen, with complete delivery expected by the end of September 2025.

Good call if you are right on that. I noted two trains on trip home tonight with the Trenitalia branding removed so definitely change on the way. I wouldn’t of noticed if wls1 had not spotted

When I last saw 033 in service after it was repainted, the unit numbers on the London end of the unit wasn’t really clear so could be repainting that.
