These people have bounties on how long it'll take them to tag new trains. Can often be a fair bit of money. Depot security needs some work methinks.

A renatus unit on GA got tagged along the whole 4 car unit overnight; they seem to have been out in force.

Can anybody here help. I shall be hosting a fellow RUK member on Friday who would like to travel on a 345 which will have to be on the GEML. I see from posts in this thread that some 7-car units have been loaned to the GWML for driver training etc.. How many are still running out of Ilford and what would be the chances of picking one up at Stratford? TIA.

There were five running after the evening peak this evening (005, 007, 008, 010, 011) so should be a very good chance of picking one up at Stratford - note that you typically get a few 315s after each other then a few 345s rather than have them alternating. I think there are nine currently in service at Ilford (003/5/7-12/22).

It wasn’t done at a depot, it was done at Abbey Wood I believe. It has however been taken to Old Oak Common for cleaning. What a waste of everyone’s time and money just so someone can have some fun for 5 minutes with a bit of spray paint.

Is there evidence of any progress yet in resolving the ETCS problems on the Heathrow branch due to interfernce between ETCS and GWR-ATP in order to allow Class 345 to run Crossrail services to Heathrow ? Incidentally it seems to me that fitting ETCS elsewhere on the GWML has been abandoned ?

Not a wast of time when the 'artist' has the photo available online for all to see.

If the courts started handing down real punishment for these criminals, you could then start offering bounties for information leading to a conviction. Far cheaper than what's going on now.

Thanks for the info. As I/we may need to get extension ticketing from Harold Wood to Shenfield, it may be worth just getting the first train to Liverpool St.

Anyone think there might be something wrong with the launch of tfl rail west. The distinct lack of publicity about it apart from the mayoral decision on fares to heathrow is rather telling. I would have thought there would have been a map or something now.

Also there will be no class 345s on launch day 20th the first 345 in service the following monday

Funny you should say that...

The TfL machinery is starting to swing back into gear after the extended break because of Easter, Local election enforced Purdah and then a bank holiday.

Not a surprise, because on Sunday the current service is just the 2tph Heathrow Connect service with no GWR Hayes & Harlington terminators. The initial TfL rail offering is basically status quo, but swapping out the 387s for 345s.

I would have thought they would have had one out on launch day for the politicans to have their cheese and wine on

Interestingly . the timetable shows the first service of the day as running to london paddington on Monday,Wednesdays and Thursdays only.. Yet real time trains shows it as running tuesdays and thursdays too. I wonder if it is going to be a 345 on tuesdays and thursdays that they can cancel at short notice

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
9-cars are indeed back on the table and they will be used on TfL Rail West. 7-cars will continue to be used on TfL Rail East and in due course will be extended to 9-cars when the East Side is connected to the core in public service next May.

It's unusual as the outward journey (0442 ex Pad) is M-F.

Are the 9 car 345s going to Heathrow, or have the contractors finished extending the Hayes & Harlington bay?

It's back to a 345 today - is this due to the Reduced Length Units no longer being needed on the Western side?

In all honesty I'm not too sure. Hopefully some more units will be coming back so we can go back to how we were a few weeks ago with more new units around.
