Class 345 at Crewe

Whilst on a LM service from Liverpool to Birmingham on Saturday (the very last day of the LM franchise) and upon passing the sidings just short of Crewe station, I noticed a Class 345 unit.

Any idea what it was doing there?

There seems to have been one parked there for ages (assuming its the same unit of-course).

345002 has been there for a while now, almost a month. A couple of previous units (001 & 014 are the ones I've seen) have ventured up and down the WCML on testing from there, but 002 doesn't seem to have moved much since it arrived.
