The BBC is reporting HERE that the Class 334 fleet will be refurbished, with Railway Projects Limited, a Derby based company in the lead, with much of the work subcontracted to Brodie Engineering Ltd in Kilmarnock.

I don't know much about the latter. Have they done rolling stock work before?

They could do with a spruce up. I used them back when they were brand new. That don't look quite as fresh as they once did.

Using 380s has shown me just how many little things are wrong with the 334s. Why is the toilet flush button BEHIND the toilet seat rather than above? Why do the information screens only scroll once when every other ScotRail unit scrolls continuously?

As the agreement is already reached it is too late to change the specification of the work in such a major way - adding tables.

Isn't the flush behind the seat to ensure you put the seat down before flushing?

Is that where the flush button is on the Pendolino? I can never seem to find the thing. Its simple on the sprinters, just put your foot down on this plunger on the floor. More hygienic as well.
