Hi according to wiki some LM units have new harder seats, floors etc. Are there any photos of this work?

Did Northern ever refurbish the units according to wiki a scheme will begin this year with CCTV etc?

Brilliant. So LM ruin the 323s. Its bad enough their Desiros are uncomfortable. Dont want the 323s going that way as well.

i was under then impression that LM refurbished (or atleast refreshed) their class 323s fairly quickly after they took over the franchise...

iirc since then, the 323s have been down to wolverton works for mechanical overhaul/exams

Internal refurb of the 323 units at LM happened soon after the franchise started ie 2008. Units are being seen going for major exams or tyre turning, but no refurb interiors since 2008.

One has had brand new internal lights which I think is 323205?

I was on 323218 (one of the ones apparently "refurbished") and I do not know the difference so I guess this is Wiki or the changes are that small I cannot tell the difference!!

If we were talking about Northern Rail that would sound very good where some units haven't have refurb interiors this millennium.

Their refurb starts next month, carried out by Alstom/West Coast Traincare at Longsight including new floors, seat covers and bodywork.

Thanks that's what I needed to know.

Yes wiki lists those LM units which have had new seating installed

It is good to see Northern will be refurbishing the 323s.

I do think it is a missed opportunity that the 158/8s haven't benefited from new carpets etc because they should be the flagship class of train (158) in the Northern fleet due to their long distance use and superior environment

About time, although the seats themselves really could do with being ripped out as many of them are broken or have bits glued on the back where people have set fire to them.

Set fire to them?

I have seen cigarette burns on seats before, it's more common on top decks of buses though!
