Funny enough was working at one of the west stations and did not see 1 317
GA did a pretty good job of keeping the older 321s looking smart, refreshing each of the NXEA units they inherited with 30 getting a full refurb. Many questioned why they were putting new seat covers, flooring and grab handles in trains that were then due to be off-lease in a couple of years. So no, the 321s have not been a mess since FGE days, NXEA let them go a bit, GA revived them but it doesn't help that the 317s and 321s feel so dated now.

The PRM 321s and 322s will be around for a bit. While there are significant cuts due to the current Covid situation, GA will be well aware that they will need to run a full service again in a month or two.

720 deliveries did seem to be ramping up before Christmas. I've read on another thread that 720 diagrams on the West Side are about to be ramped-up. If true then those Renatus units are going nowhere for a long time.
321s defo seem to be staying for a while as I have not seen man 720s on the east side

720s are working everything out of Liverpool Street on the East side today, apart from three 321 diagrams on Ipswich services. If you take away those three (not many at all) sets, everything is 720 operated on the East.

On the West, 5/7 Cambridge diagrams are 720 today, with the 379s (withdrawal imminent this month), so they’ve also made sudden rapid progress there. You can also find them on West Anglia to Stratford services to.

I’d say let them accept five or six more pairs of 720s, and they’d be fine to knock off the rest of the legacy fleet then, I reckon.

A surprise to see so many 321's available for service. Where are they all sitting? Looks like only 10-12 units max needed for current diagrams which could be easily supplied from the Renatus fleet alone.

Would anyone be kind enough to post the 321 allocations for today? Thanks!
