Today 305 and 321 left Ilford seemingly toward Wembley, any idea of what and why?
I saw this pair at Camden Road Jn heading towards Gospel Oak turning right after Camden Road station. I couldn’t find the schedule but it seems like it stopped in Wembley yard. 321321 was leading.Today a 305 and 321 left Ilford seemingly toward Wembley, any idea of what and why?
321342 appears to have gone from Northampton Up TC Sdgs, could that have gone to Ilford with another Varamis unit?I noticed passing Ilford EMUD today, that there are 2 x 321 units back again over on the back road, so did 305/321 come back from Wembley or are they 2 other units ?
They are stored next to our relief point (freight trains) and the Wembley reception roads. Can confirm they are pan up and alive. Also, there is full time security there too with cameras and motion sensors near them.Passing Wembley yard yesterday (29.08.24) many of the stored 321s (but not all) had their pantographs up, so would appear to be still live. It seems that the situation does change so perhaps somebody is looking after them !
Just come past Ilford again and it is definitely a pair of Renatus units there321342 appears to have gone from Northampton Up TC Sdgs, could that have gone to Ilford with another Varamis unit?
Yep you're right. 321342 now reported to be in the Willesden PRDC/Wembley area. At Ilford is 321321 and the other is currently UIDJust come past Ilford again and it is definitely a pair of Renatus units there

1. 5Q76 1009 Ilford Emud to Newport Docks simms scrap move.
321305 321321 first of the Retanus 321s to be scrapped? Possibly, because at Ilford it is the only thing that comes to mind as everything else there is all new stock.
Plus it is nearly two years now since, 321301 321324 went into store at Wembley, plus it's been about a year and a half since the final Retanus 321s, have been active.
Probably the Retanus 321s time is up and Newport Simms beckons, looks like sadly no more interest or future for them.
What a waste of money spent in refurbishment on them,
Non prm, would have been just before the December 2021, timetable change, even then there was a only a few left, sadly covid saw a massive number go around January 2021, either to Newport Simms for scrap, or Store Gascoigne Wood, or Store Worksop,.Random question about the non-PRM 321 units, does anyone have a date of last operation on the Southminster line, just interested as being local to it I found a very gentle transition but can't recall when last non-PRM and last 321 operated, does anyone know when these were?
Depends if Northern or Scotrail were at all interested. When they could've been put to good use at Northern or ScotRail
At stratford now running 46 mins late5Q76 hasn’t left yet. All hope is not yet lost!
1 renatus so far which went last weekI haven't looked at this thread very much so I don't know what the overall state of the fleet is. Roughly how many 321s have been scrapped, if any? And out of those, are any of them Renatus units?
5Z00 shows in the system as having moved on Monday 7th, 1306 Northampton Up Sidings to Wembley Inter City depot. 321334 was the blue one. There would appear to be a 5Z01 return trip booked tomorrow evening (2038 departure from Wembley)For some time, 4 321s have been stored in the Up sidings North of Northampton station. Last Saturday, I noticed that one had been moved to the next track further back from the running lines, and by this morning it had gone. It was the basically blue one.

Those three should be 321339/341/440 and are currently stored in an unconverted state, awaiting Varamis Rail to justify converting themThanks - looks like it (or another similar) will be back, so not off to Newport.
I think (not sure) that the other 3 321s sometimes have the pans up. One of them is a 321/4, a reminder of the good (???) old days at Northampton...
Unless Varamis stakes a claim for the 325s, but that’s a discussion for a different thread. Those three should be 321339/341/440 and are currently stored in an unconverted state, awaiting Varamis Rail to justify converting them
