Class 319 on a Brighton run

I believe they did. 319s also used to travel via Dorking from what I've been told, and ran on the WCML - both with guards.

Apparently, some guards didn't like working them very much because of the need to return to the cab for dispatch and the fact that you could lock yourself in (or out, I forget which) of the train very easily.

Locking yourself out of a lot of older emu stock is very easy. The internal cab door needs a number one key. If you've left it in the cab to operate the doors and end up in the passenger saloon, you'll shortly be knock ing on the driver's door at the next stop to borrow his key.

OK, worked from Dorking Northwards during route learning only, under normal circumstances. Happy now?

The 1W07 0600 BDM to BTN were 319's this morning. I think it was yesterday too! Return forms the 1W16 0833 to Bedford.

Seems this diagram occasionally throws up a 319 to Brighton.

I can't remember in which direction, but Coulsdon S & Merstham don't have them in one direction only (they do in the other direction).

Purley dispatchers don't sign 319s.

Sorry but your greatly in error. Purley dispatchers have nothing to do with why the 319s don't call there. In fact 319s have call there and been dispatched multiple times during 2015 without issue. I know as I involved in allowing it.

The issue is platform equipment. There little point in getting it changed when the final 319s will leave Thameslink in just over a year and there shouldn't be any need for 319s on BML by summer.

Ha I don't know! I was heading towards London Bridge when they arrived at East Croydon going the other way!

Interestingly though this train goes on to form 2x Three Bridges services: So Merstham, Cousdon & Purley were cancelled later on because of the DOO issue described previously!
