318251 was to be released from Broadies Kilmarnock yesterday but due to a major fault with the radio network in the low level (cable fire), the move was cancelled.
Barriers were left at Broadies but loco went light to Doncaster.
318257 is stopped at Yoker CS as the next unit due to go for TBox

As far as read.

It is overhaul of traction equipment, doors, heating and ventilation. It will also include relivery… which suspect knowing the Class 318, will include corrosion repairs.

Surprised that pantograph is not replaced to similar to the Class 320

I would expect the pantograph life to be much less than the C6 interval so not appropriate for this overhaul.

Strange to think that their older cousins the 317s are going to the scrapyard while these are carrying on. Hopefully they stay in Scotland long enough for me to come up and ride one

318257 now back in service

From what I could see yesterday the following work been done

Full repaint
Coupling box (with drumstick) been replaced
Electronic and air coupling box replaced
Not sure if coupler replaced as normally done with bogies
Horn (cover replaced)

If anyone able to add more please do

318264 now in the works

Remembering the 317 overhaul I done it’s probably likely that the brake and main reservoir tanks have been replaced too.
