Class 317/7s

What is going on with these now, are they all off-lease or is one hanging around to cover for the ever unreliable 317511. If they are off-lease, where are they stored? I have hear rumours that Northern, FCC or LM will be taking them in the future, is this conjecture or is something afoot? It seems a shame to have them sitting there, much like the 180s/460s.

No news on storage, but if the Rosco wants to use one to cover for a 317/5 that would be normal practice. The idea that the new TOC would 'send them all off lease' doesn't prevent the Rosco changing that position.

Plenty of speculation about future use though, on the existing thread which is in the general discussion section...

4 were rumoured to be going to Aldersbrook CS (next to the Ilford flyover) with the remaining 5 stored at Ilford Depot but that appears not to be happening. Another rumour was that they were going back to Parkeston, and the latest one is they're being stored at Shoeburyness.

Either way, they're all still at Ilford, and 317710 has worked for Abellio. It did the Romford-Upminster shuttle at least one day this week. I understood that one to be held onto until all the problems with 317511 were ironed out- which incidentally failed again this morning.
