I think it must the combination of the pink and the dull/brown seats (not the covers, but the seats themselves) that does it.

Won't NXEA be getting loads of new trains soon (relatively speaking) anyway?

And nor have the NXEA units.

It's only the draught screens that have been painted pink with the rest of the interior grey. If anything, it's a more sober scheme than the pre-refurb BR interiors that the Cl313's still have, with a huge expanse of BR Warning Yellow on the insides of the doors, the draught screens and all the way over the ceiling.

Or perhaps you just don't like pink. In which case, it's probably a good thing that FCC restrict it's use to the outside of their trains. ;)

Don't know if it's just me but apart from the different seating in use between the FCC 313 and the NXEA 315, the hopper windows are different?

Blimey...!! I post two pics for comparison and people are still saying the windows are different. They are identical. The ONLY difference is that the Cl315 window frames were renewed and repainted on refurb.

The seat frames are not brown. The problem is that the colour balance is so far not correct on all the photos linked to so far. Anoraksia's pic is the closest, but they are all to yellow rich.

Fair enough about the colour balance (maybe the pink is affecting it!), but the windows are slightly different from the photos - namely the part that holds the window open. It looks like the 313s can open slightly further than the 315s.

Now I am being very picky!!

Was on a 321 coming home tonight and noticed that the grab rails are more of a purple, as against the pink (not the NX pink) used on the door handles. I wonder if someone ordered the wrong tin of paint?!

But on the 315 I went on, on the inside the windows were different to those on a 313. Considering I had just got of a 313 before getting on a 315, I could tell the different. On the 315 I went on, the window surrounds were more like rubber(?) (the closst thing I can think of at themoment).

If the latest "news" is to be believed then some of the 313's from the North London Line will be moved to Lovers Walk to work between Brighton, Seaford and West Worthing whilst the spare 377's will be moved to strengthen trains into London from the coast.

They are also apparently getting a "refresh" so they still have plenty of work.

As for the 315's

You can see the rear unit looks pretty much identical to the current 313's. Certainly pre refurb you couldn't notice much of a difference.
