Class 24 in preservation?

I agree. I think D5061 is owned by a small group - maybe three blokes. As such it is a private arrangement between the owners and the railway, and provided that is amicable it will probably continue to be that way. Sending photos will not really achieve anything. 45015 at the Battlefield line on the other hand, was a dispute and look ho long it took to shift it off the property.

Probably one of the best outcomes would be for the owners to donate it to the Royal Scot & General Trust and maybe do a deal with LSL to cosmetically restore it and ship it to the 1:1 collection in Margate. By doing that the loco will be preserved for future generations, even if not operational. Whilst prepared for the musuem all the internals could be removed for overhaul and the shell presented on maybe some scrap or spare class 25 bogies.
