Two class 20s, heading north through Lancaster around 11:25 today. Both green painted, running as a light engine pair nose-to-nose.
I didn't know any were left mainline capable.
Driver gave a squeak on the horn on approach even though they were on the through line, presumably to give any spotters a heads-up

==edit==
one was 20096 or 20098, couldn't catch the other one

096 & 107 presumably, owned by LSL.

On this working:

Heading to Scotland and back tomorrow:

Back to Crewe via Settle and Carlisle:

Presumably route learning? But there is an associated trailing load on the final leg, so possibly moving some of the stored coaches at Carlisle Upperby back to Crewe?

There are plenty of Class 20s still registered for use on the main line. Another pair (20118/132) worked a railtour three weeks ago.

That is a Class 1 steam hauled railtour.

They were D8096 (20096) and D8107 (20107), on their way to route learning in the south of Scotland
