Hi,
Does anyone in here know at what speeds Class 185s change "gears" (stages) of their Voith T312 3-speed hydraulic transmissions? I've ridden some but haven't paid attention.
On 180s, 1st to 2nd is at about 65mph and 2nd to 3rd/top is at about 95mph, but those are 125mph units, so although they also have Voith T312s, they have different final drive gearing to the 100mph 185s.
If the 185s' final drive gearing was such that the changes were at the same [~52% and ~76% of top speed] as that of the 180s, the 185s' changes would of course be at ~52mph and ~76mph.
Would be nice to know what the actual case is
