I believe it was actually a 222 which decided to toast itself rather than a 180...

222102 set on fire back in 2007! Hull Trains must really batter their 222s! EMT have never had such a problem.

I presume it was 222104 then?

I heard a 180 going to King's Cross in the morning on Thursday and it didn't sound very good. It passed through Finsbury Park (platform 2) and was sounding like it was REALLY struggling. It usually shoots through pretty quick and there had been no train ahead to delay it that I can recall.

I saw a Pioneer the other day, so they must still be in use.

They have one 222 still in use awaiting the release of a refurbished 180 from Bombardier. When it is released the 222 will go down to EMT
