The 0834 Church Stretton - Manchester failed (emergency breaks applied apparently) about 500ft from the station this morning. I was waiting at the station along with a surprisingly fair few other passengers however the departure boards just got rid of both the 0834 and 0905 Holyhead, no mention of cancellations and delays whatsoever. At 0920 I think the 0905 attached to the 0834 but not sure what happened then, and also what happened to the passengers on board. Most people waiting at church stretton had given up by this time! Awful customer service from atw though!

A STP service, 1Z48 0920 Shrewsbury to Manchester, was set up, however this service was timed to get into Manchester for 1037, of course this not ideal as the normal return working of this service is 1V39 1030 Manchester Piccadilly to Milford Haven. 1Z48 arrived into Manchester five minutes late at 1042, but miraculously 1V39, which if you look on the link I've posted only ran as far as Cardiff, left at 1044, so a TWO minute turnaround is pretty impressive.

Although I agree some communication would have been handy for those at Church Stretton, as it seems those waiting at stations after Shrewsbury admittedly did get a service about half an hour later, yet CTT seems to have been abandoned!

As for the 0905 to Holyhead (1W91 0721 Cardiff to Holyhead), this ended up terminating at Llandudno Junction due to a person hit by a train.
