Just seen 166214 with new looking LED lights. Is this to do with DDA? Was it done with C5 at Ilford?

Nothing to do with DDA, but ex BR stock is progressivly being fitted with brighter LED lights to match new build stock. For stock that uses the old BR standard light unit it's just a straight swap.

Thats nothing new! 156s that were with Central Trains (that long ago!) had them fitted

The FGW West fleet got them a few years ago, not sure why the Turbos weren't done at the same time.

While I haven't a clue if train lights are anything like car lights, perhaps there wasn't a direct replacement for the bulb type at the time?
