I'd like some pictures of class 158s in Pembrokeshire (Whitland or Carmarthen would do too) so does anyone know any good ones on the internet or times when they run west of Swansea so I can take my own? I've never seen anything other than 150s,153s and 175s in this area (maybe passed a pacer once or twice, but not sure).

158's sometimes appear on Manchester - Carmarthen/Milford Haven trains. I imagine that this is unplanned swaps for failures or emergency maintenance, so it's very much luck if you happen to see one!

There is one pulling into Carmarthern there when I was passing through in Septemeber

Thanks, if I find any shots I think particulally suitable I may use them in a document I'm planning to write to the AM for round here, if that's alright? So anyone posting other links, make sure I'm allowed to use them (or show me anyway but let me know that I'm not allowed to use them).

Was that a Sunday by any chance? The number of units in Platform 2 suggests this as it reminded me of one Sunday when I was amazed at that all 3 services on the departure board on Platform 1 were FGW trains to Paddington! There were many ATW units on Platform 2, including Pacers, but no 158s I think.

Also, while I know 158s are not often used I read elsewhere that they have to send 158s our way occasionally to keep up traction knowlage. So I was wondering if there was a set service on a set series of dates (2nd Saturday in each month or somthing) that they use for this purpose.

If you wanna use it, go for it, just quote me or the website in it :D

It was a Sunday and yes all the services said platform 1 when there was quite clearly an FGW HST there which I would be getting on
