Bachmann have made the class 158 in a number of liveries, some more readily available than others. Liveries produced include:
- Regional Railways (2 car and 3 car)
- Regional Railways 'Express' (2 car)
- Regional Railways 'Scotrail' (2 car)
- Northern Spirit (3 car)
- Arriva Trains Northern/Northern Spirit (3 car)
- First North Western/North Western Trains
- Arriva Trains Wales
- Central Trains
- First Scotrail
- First Transpennine Express vinyl (2 car)
- BR/WYPTE Metro
- ATN/WYPTE Metro
- Northern Rail (2 car)
- Wales and West silver/yellow/blue
- Wessex silver/maroon
It has also been released in the form of the class 159, in Network Southeast, South West Trains and Stagecoach liveries.
The very original release of the unit, in Regional Railways livery, had a one piece body and these are particularly rare examples, all the rest were built with multi-part body shells.
Olivias trains do seem to still sell them, but the prices are higher than you would find on that well known auction website. Secondhand dealers and trade stalls will probably also have some for sale at exhibitions and such.
Bachmann has said it is tooling a new 'DCC ready' chassis for the 158 as the existing model is not DCC ready, though I think they have been saying this for a few years now.
