This morning (31/05) there was a WMT liveried class 153 in the sidings at Swindon, any ideas why?

There has never been such thing as a West Midlands Trains-liveried Class 153 - do you mean the green London Midland livery, or the blue/orange/red East Midlands Trains livery?

It’s 153354 if memory serves me correctly and it is a static training unit.
