Wonder what they would have looked like had they been kept and ended up in proper Regional Railway colours, then Central and finally East Midland Trains? Someone with photoshop tallent should try that out. Of cource if they had gone into production instead of the 150 they would have ended up in a big variety of liveries (Central, Northern, First North Western, Arriva, Valley Lines, Wessex, Anglia, Scotrail etc).

Looks good, I just hope at some point the 'humps' where removed, as they spoil the appearance by looking too pacerish

I wish these had made it onto the robin hood line, it could have increased the ude of the line a bit (by bringing enthusiasts) We need to find some other experimental stock for the line now Maybe we could take the carriages forom the APT, and make them into DMU's, hence having the slowest tilting stock in the world?

Removing the humps would be very difficult as they contain the radiators.
It's sort of continental practice, as they have low platforms so have tended to for some time put more stuff on the roof and less under the floor. These days they often even have the engine on the roof to give a proper low floor.

I'd say it'd look like a 158 or even a class 471 (networker prototype)
