Having just seen the Network Rail class 950 at Selhurst depot (which of course is based on the class 150) made me wonder, have any variants of the Class 150 ever ventured onto the Brighton Line or the south London lines?

I've never seen this unit at Selhurst before, anyone know what it is doing there?

I wouldn't be surprised if a 150 had worked the services from Bristol/The West to Gatwick at some point, putting it on the Brighton line between Redhill and Gatwick...

FGW sometimes uses 150/1 or 150/2 on the brighton-great malvern trains if a 158 is unavailable, only 166/165's go between reading and gatwick, it was a bit odd seeing the 950 on selhurst.

NR trains are quite regularly stabled/fuelled at Selhurst; I don't suppose this one was there for anything other than that.

FGW 165s and 166s occasionally visit Selhurst - most recently for servicing over Christmas during the works at Reading.

The TRU 950 is down for video surveying. It doesn't do anything else on the Southern.

They were only very recently cleared (within the last few months) for Redhill to Selhurst, specifically because of the works over Christmas. The way the NR vehicle change reads, they weren't cleared at all before then.
