I saw this for he first time today since Langley Mill station opened, a class 150 was running the service between Leeds and Nottingham, as a lad I remember the first local services that stopped at Langley Mill we class 150's, but I have not seen them round here for many a year. Oh the memories.

Thats unusual! Any idea which 150 it was?

Yes, 150 272, took a couple of pictures of it at Nottingham station. I was at Sheffield on Thursday evening and saw a class 142 with a 150 in tow pass through platform 1 and to the end of the platform before separating, I can't remember the last time I saw a 150 at Sheffield so I'm guessing it was dragged there to run the Nottingham Leeds service today in place of a 158.

142s are banned past Chesterfield I believe. Certainly I have seen a 142 and 158 coupled for the Leeds - Sheffield portion with just the 158 continuing on to Sheffield.

I'd hazard a guess at saying a 158 failed earlier in the day and a 150 picked up at Sheffield.

A couple of times now I've seen the 3-car 158s (which in my opinion should have stayed with EMT) and 153 strengthened units running the service. Very odd, given that it's rare to even fill out a normal 158.

150s occasionally made it over in Central days. Distinctly remember catching one to Derby once, I'd assume on a Skegness - Crewe run. Them were the days :(

I remember when Langley Mill station first opened in 1986, I'm sure 150's were the first passenger services to stop there, I remember as a kid opening and closing the double doors for passengers at stations, god I must have been annoying!

Class 150s are often used from Sheffield to Manchester stoppers along with the 156s and 142s.

Was in Sheffield today, arrived just after 12, and there was 2 class 150/2 in, one outside the end of Platform 1 (South end) and one between platforms 5 and 6. On returning I noticed from the footbridge that there was what looked like a 150/1, but I was rushing for my train so didn't get time check it out.

As mentioned before, they may well be used on the Sheffield - Manchester stoppers, but this is the first time I have seen any 150's at Sheffield for some years.
