I heard one revving its nuts off. While stationary. Maybe an air leak? Two car set, but how many main reservoir tanks would this train have?

Two....one on each car. However the driver may have been building up air pressure quickly from scratch by using the compressor speed-up function, which runs the engines at maximum revs.

Compressor speed up makes an absolute racket.
Absolute garbage on a lot of the 150 units too.
156 compressors are brilliant.
