Passed a Northen142 sitting at Webtec in Kilmarnock.
Bit of a longshot but does anyone know anything about him?

Its 142091 being repaired after hitting a landslide/fallen tree on the way to Lincoln on the 27th of April this year

The front from 059 which was stored under Victoria station for many years was sent up to Scotland to be used a mold for a new front to be made for 091. The front of 059 now belongs to the Pacer Preservation Society and has also been repaired and repainted

Hope this helps!

So PPS already have [part of] a Pacer? Nice! Strange that they don't mention anything about the 141s on their site.

Out of curiousity what would've happened if that cab wasn't sat under Manchester Victoria?

They'd have gaffa-taped an Optare Solo onto the front.

I wish you could like posts on this forum hahaha!

They would have probably just used the undamaged front end?

They are now. Since the sale of Brush Traction by the FKI Group to Wabtec Corporation in spring 2011, The former Hunslet Barclay / Brush - Barclay works have become Wabtec Rail Scotland. Loughborough is still called Brush Traction i believe though :)

If anyones interested in what Wabtec's up to these days, They've also moved back into Eastleigh Works this year - now renting a space in the former Van Shop, which is being used for the Southern 455 overhauls & repaints.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England

Exactly when was that front end removed from its tomb ?

I have had some most vivid flights of fancy when I saw the word "mold" used in your posting, especially as it concerned a piece of a Pacer..:D
