My Dad is looking for a few class 142's that are based at Cardiff, does anybody know if you can see them a bit further north. Unit numbers are 142006, 010, 069, 075, 077, 083.

They go up the Valleys, thats North, but if you want a chance to see a few of them then Cardiff is your best bet.

These units will be on the following services:

Penarth to Bargoed/Rhymney
Coryton to Radyr
Barry to Merthyr/Aberdare
Bridgend to Aberdare
Cardiff to Treherbert
Possibly a Swanline service.

Cardiff Queen Street is the best bet for them.

The swanline diagram which doesnt interwork with the Heart Of Wales line has usually been worked by a class 142 on saturdays

Give yourself two and a half hours at Cardiff central and everything diagrammed on valley lines should come past.
A trip on the city line toward Radyr should give a good view of stuff at Canton unless tucked away inside though this summer with the pacers doing Swansea to Pembroke dock you may need to venture further west

Could be a Class 143. They are treated as 1 fleet for operational and diagramming purposes.
Likewise Pembroke Docks
