Hello does anyone know what is happening with Class 08 D3255 Near Malton?

That's the one at a farm, isn't it? As far as I am aware it's still standing there. You might need to go to a more specialised shunter forum like Shunterspot for this kind of detail...

Yes that's the shunter.

From the very little information available, it seems to belong / be at the premises of a company called TWS Fabrication, at Leavening, that works with metal fabrication.

Presumably it has been bought with the view for some kind of preservation, but not much seems to have happened? I think you'd have to take a trip out there to take a look!

I guess this thread really belongs in the preservation section...

The forum entry prompted me to finally take a drive out to get a photo but I found only a short section of track. Anyone know if the 08 is still onsite inside (the buildings were all closed up) or has been moved? Last entry on the aforementioned “Shunterspot” is from March 2019.

It seems from that same Shunterspot forum that it was moved inside, maybe around 2017, as the owner was not happy about so many people coming to look at it. The last photos I can find on the web are from 2016, so that tallies with that time.

It is all something of a mystery, as it also seems that the loco was earmarked from scrap as long ago as 2009 but ended up at this site instead.

I wonder what its fate will be, at the moment it seems it is for it to be in that shed for an indefinite period.

I really hope it would be overhauled. But it seems to have some work done to it as one of the pictures I saw of it showed it having it's lights and wheels off.
