If you are happy to commit to specific trains, book Advance single tickets on the Southern Website, but if you miss the specified train your ticket has no value and a new ticket would need to be purchased.

For walk-on travel a Clapham Junction (CLJ) to Brighton (BTN) Anytime Day Return with a Railcard is £16.85. This is valid at any time, to return the same day. There is no 3-day product that I am aware of.

"Splitting" the journey into a combination of tickets is not normally useful for pre-10am travel with a 16-25 Railcard, due to the £12 minimum fare on most walk-on tickets, however this does not apply (ie, there is not a minimum fare) during July/August, so for the dates you mention it may be a possibility. Perhaps someone who is based in that area can advise.

(PS: Any chance of a more descriptive username?)

£2.40 each way on advance singles is possible - on the Southern website

But 0906 is the earliest arrival - is that too late?

:D Good to talk, innit?

£16.85 per day for an Anytime Day Return with 16-25 railcard discount is probably the cheapest that you are going to get at the times that you want to travel. Total for the three days = £50.55

The cheapest season ticket from Clapham Junction to/from Brighton would be a 7 day ticket costing £77.20.

Cheers bruvs!

Very efficient replies - your answers have confirmed my suspicion that day returns will be the cheapest option considering my inflexibility, which eliminates the possibility of advances.

My user name is fine. There is no reason to change it. I have made my decision and it is final. At least my user name is not the name of a chocolate bar...

Thanks for talking to me.

Well I WAS going to suggest that changing at East Croydon and taking advantage of the FCC only fares might save you a bit of cash. But since you seem happy with taking what you need, ignoring moderation advice and throwing it back at them disrespectfully, I'll leave the details of that to you. Have fun!

I do like these brash kids who think they can do anything on the internet ... NOT!

Fortunately, if the admins decide that they seriously don't like your username then they can decide to change it. They probably won't, but I'd love it if we suddenly gained a user named after the red planet.;)
