Clapham Junction-Southampton Central Day Return

Hello,

Are there any ticket recommendations for doing the above (ideally on direct trains) Monday, outward approx 3pm and return approx 7pm. I see that the cheapest day return from CLJ to SOU is £32.00. (For now, I'll disregard the southern services).

I'm happy with starting short, or with explaining the routeing guide to staff. Suggestions that are best sent by PM are welcomed by PM.
